but that doesn’t mean that it’s easy

The process of running a business is simple, but that doesn’t mean that it’s easy. Any business can be broken down into a number of actions, steps, processes, and procedures. Everything is predictable.

As long as we follow those steps and processes, we’re going to get predictable results.

Whether it’s in finance, where we’re making sure that our income is more than the expenses. Or in production, where we’re making sure that the items we make are in a quality control process where each one is made the same way every time.

Why is running a business difficult?

But why is it the business gets difficult? Why is it not easy?

Well, it’s human nature that we’re going to try and change the process. We’re not going to make things easy for ourselves.

As human beings we’re “meaning making machines”. We make meaning out of things that don’t necessarily need to have meaning. We’re dealing with human people that all have their own issues and challenges going on, and not going to be doing the same thing for you day-in-day-out.

So, as a business owner, you have to deal with how people turn up on the day in your workplace.

They’re not gonna have the same feelings about the business that you do.

They’re not gonna work as hard as you doing the business.

But as long as they’re working to a standard that is acceptable to you, and they’re following the process that you put into place. You can create a business that gets you the results you want. So although the process of running a business is simple, it’s not necessarily easy.
